  4. Obviousman says:

It’s about 12 miles. That would be about $40 each way, plus tip, according to my fare calculator.

    Cheaper to rent a car.

  5. Beejee says:

West Hollywood is undefined and includes, I think, Santa Monica which is an incorporated city…with a beach.

Somebody correct me if I’m wrong.

It’s really not that far, but the price of a cab would depend on where in Santa Monica you’re staying. While it’s not that far,8-12 miles, depending on where you’re staying& what clubs are your destination. It still probably won’t be cheap as Taxi fares here are somewhat steep. If, for instance, you’re staying near the pier and want to get to Rage, I’d assume probably about $30-$40, but I don’t know for sure!
Bus lines used to run late, at least on weekends, you may want to check into that option if renting a car isn’t an option!
Sorry, I drive, and we tend to clock distance around here in minutes, not miles!

    Enjoy your visit!

Kye once every month we get a question here that has nothing but wrong answers….THIS IS IT—except for Obviousman, of course….
You can take a bus from the Santa Monica beach area to Beverly Hills area and then a short cab ride to West Hollywood. I do not know if there is a bus all the way directly from Santa Monica down Santa Monica Blvd to West Hollywood..seems like there should be but I don’t know what it is…maybe mobile mark will know..Cab would be tooooo expensive…

  8. CarlisleGirl says:

Oh! You are getting some terrible answers here! Eight miles max, and I don’t think you should pay more than $25, and even then that feels high for such a cab ride.

  9. Bob Smith says:

These are some horrible answers, except Obviousman & the others pointing this out.

Santa Monica is adjacent to West Hollywood (which is a city, not just a neighborhood of LA). Both cities are large, so in theory, you could stay at the beach in Santa Monica and be miles away from West Hollywood. Santa Monica Blvd. will be the major street running all the way to the beach.

Getting a taxi will cost you a lot, Obviousman is right on the mark with his estimate, it’s cheaper to get a rental car.

    Enjoy your stay here.
