The Hollywood RockWalk at the Guitar Center was established to recognize outstanding guitarists and other musical celebrities. It is situated at 7425 Sunset Boulevard, Hollywood. The Guitar Center is the largest chain of musical instruments store in America. The RockWalk at the Guitar center was founded in 1985 to honor the musical legends just like honoring film and TV celebrities at the Grauman’s Chinese Theater.
Some of the top musical artists honored here include Stevie Wonder, B.B. King, Moody Blues, Brian Wilson, Smokey Robinson, Steely Dan and Leo Fender. The artists are invited to put their handprints into the cement blocks placed at the Guitar Center. The cement blocks contain only handprints of the artists and not footprints. The name and facsimile signature of the artists are also included with the handprints.
Future inductees are selected by RockWalk honorees through secret ballot. The induction ceremonies are open to public and the admission to the RockWalk is always free. It is located on the north side of Sunset Boulevard and west of Vista Street. It is open 24 hours and limited parking facilities are available nearby.

Hollywood and its neighborhoods are filled with many comedy clubs where superstar comedians and young aspirants stage their shows for a fun filled night. Many of the clubs are attached with full bar and restaurant and they provide an excellent nightlife experience to the visitors. A description about the major comedy clubs in Hollywood are given here.

1. Laugh Factory Comedy Club:
In Hollywood the Laugh Factory club is located at 8001 Sunset Boulevard. It was founded in 1979 by Jamie Masada, a young comedian who came to America from Iran. Some of the annual events currently hosted by Laugh Factory include the Laugh Bowl, search of young comedians held in November every year.

2. Ha Ha Comedy Club:
This comedy club was established in 1988 at 5010 Lankershim Boulevard, North Hollywood. It offers two shows every night featured by veteran comics and new comedians. A full service bar and a restaurant provide food and drinks to the visitors.

3. Jon Lovitz Comedy Club:
This famous club is located 1000 Universal Studios Boulevard, Universal City Hollywood. Comedy shows are played daily from Tuesday through Sundays and on Saturday nights, there are three shows starting from 6.00 pm.The minimum age limit to enter the club is 18 years. The club boasts three floors with full bar and a restaurant.

4. Flapper’s Comedy Club:
This comedy club is located in Burbank, about 8 kilometers east of North Hollywood. The club has two stages and an outdoor patio. It hosts comedy shows on Wednesday through Sunday and there will be a family show on every Saturday at 11.30 am. It has a full bar and a restaurant with full dinner menu.

5. Saddle Ranch Chop House:
The Saddie Ranch Chop House is a restaurant and bar located at 1000 Universal Studios Boulevard. On Monday nights it hosts free live comedy shows from 10.00 pm to midnight. The entry here is restricted to peoples over 21 years of age.

6. The Comedy Store:
This club is located in West Hollywood on the Sunset Strip. Some shows are restricted to peoples over 21 years of age. Notable comedians performed here include Louie Anderson, Robin Williams, Damon Wayans and Howie Mandel.

7. ACME Comedy Theatre:
This comedy club is located at 135 N. La Brea Ave, Hollywood and features sketch, improv and stand-up shows. Some of the noted comedians performed here include Lea Thompson, Fred Armisen, Debra Skelton and Fred Willard.

8. Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre:
This famous comedy club is located at 5919 Franklin Ave, Hollywood.The shows here include improve, sketch, one man or one woman shows.Ocassionally it also hosts free shows at midnight. There is no age restriction here but people mingle at the nearby Birds Cafe-Bar after the show.

Madame Tussauds Hollywood

This interactive wax museum in Hollywood was opened on August 2009 with over hundred figures of celebrities. It is situated in Hollywood Boulevard just near the famous attractions like Grauman’s Chinese Theatre and Hollywood Walk of Fame. The life-like wax figures of famous personalities from film, music, politics and sports are displayed here without any barriers. The visitors can watch the figures and even take photographs standing next to them.
It is a three story building with an elevator taking the visitors to the third floor from where they start watching celebrities and step down to visit other galleries. Photographing is permitted throughout the museum and a souvenir photo can be taken at several places. Such photos include an upside-down photo with Spiderman and a portrait photo with Shrek.
The movie stars in Madame Tussauds Hollywood include Oscar winners like Robin Williams, Johnny Depp, Salma Hayek, Denzel Washington and famous Hollywood celebrities like Britney Spears, Will Smith, Brad Pitt, Anglina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston. The Musical legends include Justin Timberlake, Snoop Dogg and Lady Gaga. Some of the Sports personalities waxed here include David Beckham, Lance Armstrong and Tony Hawk. The museum is open all days except on Oscars® day. Tickets can be purchased online in advance.

Hollywood Beach Broadwalk

The brick-paved Hollywood Beach Broadwalk is one of the best beach broadwalks in America. It extends from Hallandale Beach Boulevard to North Beach Park that stretches nearly two and half miles along the Atlantic Ocean. The beach comprises palm tree laden white sands with many amenities for relaxation and entertainment. It is the ideal place for walking, jogging, biking and rollerblading. For bikers there is a separate bike bath that gives them uninterrupted ride. At the north side of the broadwalk there is a sea turtle hatchery and some picnic facilities.

There are three playground areas with swings, slides and picnic pavilions. The Garfield paddle ball court is for paddle ball players. A 60 foot observation tower is situated adjacent to the North Beach Park. Showers, restrooms, shelters and fishing piers are also available in the beach. The beach safety includes twenty one lifeguard towers, eight first aid stations, colored lights and lanterns during the night. Several beachfront restaurants and cafes provide foods and drinks at moderate rates. The Hollywood Beach outdoor theatre arranges free concerts and programs.

Pets are not allowed in the beach. There is no need of license for saltwater fishing but oceanfront fishing is allowed only before 8. a.m. and after 6.p.m.Fireworks and firearms are not permitted in the beach.

John Anson Ford Amphitheatre- Hollywood

The John Anson Ford Amphitheatre is one of the oldest performing arts venues situated in Cahuenga Pass in Hollywood. This beautiful open air theatre sits on a 45 acre park like setting opposite to Hollywood Bowl on Cahuenga Boulevard. The stage of the theatre is set against the natural backdrop of the chaparral and cypress vegetations of the Hollywood Hills. It is owned and managed by the County of Los Angeles. The Los Angeles based arts organizations present public performances in the theatre during every summer.

The History of Ford Theatre:
The theatre was originally built in 1920 by Christine Wetherill Stevenson and others for staging the religious play, The Pilgrimage. A wooden amphitheatre was built by Christine Wetherill Stevenson and the play was performed every summer from 1920 to 1929.In October 1929 a fire broke out in the theatre and it was completely destroyed. The theatre was rebuilt in concrete by Works Progress Administration (WPA) in 1931 and the play continued to stage till 1964.The theatre was deeded to the County of Los Angeles in 1941 but a law suit against playing the religious play in a County facility resulted in stopping the play from 1964 onwards. The theatre was renamed in the year 1976 and the name became John Anson Ford Amphitheatre in remembrance to John Anson Ford who was the former Los Angeles County supervisor for his support to creative arts and music.

Features and Facilities of Ford Theatre:
The theatre has a total area of 1242 square feet including an indoor theatre having 87 seats. The flooring of the theatre is done using nonsprung wood, stone and marley.The furniture include chairs, podium, tables and the artist amenities include dressing rooms, green room and shower. The audio visual systems comprises digital projector, sound systems, MP3/auxiliary input, PA system, DVD player, projection screen and microphone.

Stage Performances at the Theatre:
The summer season consists of a series of dance, drama and music performances staged from May through October every year. Each summer it organizes film festivals on a full size movie screen using 35mm projectors. The indoor theatre is used for dramatic performances during off season.
The stage programs undertaken by the theatre is aimed at nurturing the artists, arts organizations and the Los Angeles community in general. It helps to discover the cultural diversity of the region by organizing programs and concerts for a large diversity of people.
